The “it” Color

Looking back at all my imagery from my most recent trip, it’s easy to spot that “terracotta” with amber earthen tones was the “it” color. This color appeared in glassware, ceramics, game tables, rugs, and wallpaper. This earthen tone emulates the colors of the sunrise and sunset while creating a calming and soothing addition to any home space.

Terracotta, also known as terra cotta is a term used in some contexts for earthenware. Terracotta is NOT a single color, but a family of colors that resemble fire clay. The word itself is “fired earth” and the component colors are typically orange and brown.

While roaming the streets of Milan and the South of France, I noticed the colors of the show emulated the colors on the street seen through architecture and accent detailing on the streets.
