Trend Viewpoints: High Point Market

High Point Market | Spring 2022

Let’s take a deep dive…

I wanted to share some trend and lifestyle overviews from my recent trip to High Point Market. I discovered four key trend viewpoints and each one is unique and inspiring in its own way.

From natural substrates to bold graphics—the industry is as inspired as ever!

Trend #1: Natural Substrates

Mixing materials creates dimension and character in a space. These natural substrates embody ‘eco-luxury’ by using organic and sustainable pieces. This harmonious trend has a large focus on texture and layering.

Manufacturers: Currey & Company, V Rugs & Home, Selamat, Accent Decor

Trend #2: Neutral Nuance

While texture remains at the forefront of textiles, we are seeing a shift in color from grays to beiges and taupes. These colors, mixed with natural and reclaimed woods, create a sensibility that is soft and subtle with a nod towards wellness and a more relaxed lifestyle.

Manufacturers: Jenni Kayne Home, Decorum, Bernhardt, Roberta Schilling

Trend #3: Opposites Attract

We find it so refreshing to see a movement towards a graphic and modern vibe in home interiors. The art created for this style is loose and bold. The textures are creative and contemporary, and the textiles are free-form and mesmerizing!

Manufacturers: York Wallcoverings, Jamie Young, Bernhardt, Temp Paper, Palecek, Studio NYC Design / Prestige Arts

Trend #4: Creative Color

Warm and cozy creative coloration is continuing in interior design, stemming from the terra-cotta trend that started a few years ago. These desert inspired tones are subtle, yet sophisticated.

Manufacturers: Simply Amish, Accent Decor, Thibaut, Roberta Schilling, Stacy Garcia
